"With effect from 1st April 2020,
many PSU Banks will start the
process of AMALGAMATION;
Indian Bank and Allahabad Bank will
merge together to become the
7th largest PSU Bank of India NATION.
More than 50% of the total branches of
Allahabad Bank in total are in West Bengal,
Bihar and Uttar PRADESH;
more than 50% branches of
Indian Bank in total are in Kerala,
Tamil Nadu and Andhra PRADESH.
In Corporate Loans
and other credits,
Allahabad Bank has a
good market CONCENTRATION;
so many numbers of Bank Correspondents
and so many rural branches of Allahabad
Bank will help the Indian Bank to do
rapid market PENETRATION.
Merging of nearby
branches is a NECESSITY;
staffs per branch to be increased to
maintain a good asset QUALITY.
The number of ATM centres are
more in Indian Bank and the location
of almost all its branches are
having a financial FEASIBILITY;
in comparison to Indian Bank, the Allahabad
Bank is having more branches in remote
rural areas, more or less based on just
cheaper premises rent AVAILABILITY.
In terms of IT infrastructure,
the Indian Bank is much
developed and ORGANIZED;
there is no 'Readykit' for savings or current
account in Allahabad Bank, which is still
one of the reasons to be CRITICIZED.
Keeping soft copies
of CASA and loan documents
is really a good INITIATIVE;
but, unless 'CAPC' and 'DAMC' is simplified,
the motivating factors of all employees will
always remain NEGATIVE."- Arindam Sain
