the rainy season

Bangabhoomi, the water level 
rises
up in rivers, ponds and LAKES; 
on
the last day of the Bhaadra month 
in
Bangabhoomi, people of Bangabhoomi perform a 
ritual
to worship Goddess Manasa and Vaastu SNAKES.
Whatever
you cook on the last day 
of
Bhaadra month, you have to eat those 
food
items on the first day of 
Aaswin
month by regarding it as a PRASAD; 
the
overnight rice soaked in water is known as Paanta which 
is
having Vitamin B12 and a very high nutrient value and 
also
the dal vada, kachu saak, karela fry, little chingri fry, 
Hilsha
fry has its own delicious taste or SWAAD.
It
is a belief in the rural areas of Bangabhoomi 
that
the snakes eat up the rats 
and
the crops remain safe as USUAL; 
so
to give respect to snakes, to safeguard their family members 
from
snake bites, to bring good luck by making Vaastu Snake happy, 
every
year, the Bangabhoomi people perform the Ranna Puja RITUAL.”-
