“During
the rainy season
in
Bangabhoomi, the water level
rises
up in rivers, ponds and LAKES;
on
the last day of the Bhaadra month
in
Bangabhoomi, people of Bangabhoomi perform a
ritual
to worship Goddess Manasa and Vaastu SNAKES.
Whatever
you cook on the last day
of
Bhaadra month, you have to eat those
food
items on the first day of
Aaswin
month by regarding it as a PRASAD;
the
overnight rice soaked in water is known as Paanta which
is
having Vitamin B12 and a very high nutrient value and
also
the dal vada, kachu saak, karela fry, little chingri fry,
Hilsha
fry has its own delicious taste or SWAAD.
It
is a belief in the rural areas of Bangabhoomi
that
the snakes eat up the rats
and
the crops remain safe as USUAL;
so
to give respect to snakes, to safeguard their family members
from
snake bites, to bring good luck by making Vaastu Snake happy,
every
year, the Bangabhoomi people perform the Ranna Puja RITUAL.”-
