"Onam festival is celebrated
in Kerala every year to give respect and greetings
to the great Asura King,
Mahabali's annual visit to Earth or 'Prithvi BHRAMAN'.
King Mahabali knew very well that
one of the avatars of Lord Vishnu
was VAMAN.
King Mahabali was also aware of
the fact that
the Brahmin was actually the
Vaman in DISGUISE;
but, still, King Mahabali
kept his Kingly PROMISE.
During Onam festival, no matter
whether
you are a poor farmer or a
village CHIEF;
you must enjoy serving and eating
Onam festival feast foods on a
banana LEAF.
If you love dancing, then
you can enjoy Kummattikali,
Pulikali and KATHAKALI;
even you can enjoy snake boat
race competition,
which is popularly known as
VALLAMKALI.
Wishing everyone a very happy
Onam festival
to welcome on Earth; the great
Demon King, ‘MAHARAJA MAHABALI’."-Arindam Sain
